A reliable source, familiar with the collaboration, confirmed to Footwear News that the two entities will no longer be in collaboration.

Chen expressed his thoughts in a press release, stating, "With Adidas, we're creating to inspire. I believe the freedom to create is one of the driving forces behind my work. My aesthetic, particularly in recent years, has undergone a complete transformation. This collaboration is both exciting and nerve-wracking for me because it allows me to create from this new perspective. Having immersed myself in the Adidas brand during the summer in Europe, I gained a fresh outlook. The new EDC vibe is more chic than street. After 20 years, I'm more excited than ever."

In 1987, CHANEL unveiled the Premiere watch: a timeless creation for women by Artistic Director Jacques Helleu. Perhaps because it remains firmly anchored in the present. Thirty-five years after its creation, this veritable lesson in style reappears in its original form, adorned with what it holds most dear: its timeless allure.

This term refers to an extraordinary group of supermodels who were exceptionally famous and highly sought-after, emerging during the 1980s and reaching the pinnacle of their careers in the subsequent decade.

These icons required only their first names to be instantly recognized. They were genuine celebrities, akin to actresses, and achieved a legendary status on par with the brands they graced with their presence, whether on the runway or in photo shoots. As early as the 1991 Versace show, they reshaped the norms of the fashion industry: no longer were there distinctions between runway models and those posing for editorial shoots. Supermodels excelled in every aspect of their profession. While they each shone brightly individually, their collective strength was awe-inspiring. Whether adorning magazine covers, strutting the Gianni Versace catwalks, starring in George Michael's music videos, or gracing the lenses of Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, and Herb Ritts, as well as fronting campaigns for the most prestigious fashion houses, their mystique was magnified through their sisterhood.

In the beginning, like a superhero movie script or the formation of a rock band, there were three of them: Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell, united under the affectionate moniker "The Trinity", in the words of famous photographer Steven Meisel. Then came the remarkable Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss and the late Tatjana Patitz to complete the group, officially referred to as "the Big Five" or "the Big Six".


While the term "Supermodel" had its roots as far back as the 19th century, in the media of the '90s, the term "Supermodels" spread to include other renowned supermodels such as Gisele Bündchen, Carla Bruni, Helena Christensen, Iman, Stephanie Seymour, Yasmeen Ghauri, Karen Mulder, Kristen McMenamy, Tyra Banks, Elle Macpherson, Laetitia Casta, Eva Herzigová, Yasmin Le Bon, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow, and Nadja Auermann.

Today, celebrities such as Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber follow in their footsteps, albeit with a different showcase from their predecessors, favoring social networks in addition to TV screens, catwalks and magazine pages.

Once upon a day, Margherita had an irresistible encounter with Gerardo's double-breasted topcoat, and from that moment, she never parted with it. She had a penchant for borrowing clothes from her father and grandfather's closets since her teenage years. Those high-waisted trousers and impeccably tailored dream jackets were her style sanctuary, and she couldn't imagine finding them elsewhere.

On the other hand, Gerardo's upbringing in Salerno instilled in him a deep appreciation for fine tailoring, which was an integral part of his identity and flowed through his veins. He had been donning bespoke, handmade trousers, jackets, and shirts since time immemorial.

Fate brought Margherita and Gerardo together in Rome. She managed a luxury and lifestyle communication consulting firm, while he ran Sartoria Giuliva, a Neapolitan atelier dedicated to creating bespoke clothing for men. The moment they met, it was love not only as life partners destined to build a loving family but also as entrepreneurial souls who saw a void in the market and dared to fill it.


Timeless Vision

Together, they set out to create something extraordinary: the first sartorial prêt-à-porter womenswear collection, crafted with the finest fabrics and traditional techniques, yielding timeless and iconic pieces. Their inaugural collection debuted in Paris during February 2017, featuring a line of women's outerwear inspired by classic men's cuts—full-length pieces exquisitely reimagined for a feminine touch. Three years later, they unveiled their first prêt-à-porter men's collection in Paris.

Reflecting on their journey, Margherita and Gerardo recount, "We began with coats because they served as a natural transition from men's tailoring into women's fashion. We both cherish the idea of creating perfect pieces that will stand the test of time, just like our grandparents' wardrobe—a curated collection that lasts, with each piece making a statement in its own way." And so, the vision they nurtured became a reality.
