JACO
A CONCEPT WITH AN ITALIAN ACCENT
The Place
More than a restaurant, Jaco is a real concept that fits perfectly into the spirit of Fort Jaco, a Brussels neighborhood that declines the "Dolce Vita".
Fort Jaco was once a fort. It owes its popular name to Jacques Pastur (1659-1723), a soldier-mercenary who was very active in the area and known as General Jaco. Today, Jaco has become a new place where the products of Italy set the tone. A place to live and to meet, where you can have lunch, have dinner, taste one of the delicious cocktails concocted by the mixologists of the House, or simply buy the products that will garnish the family table. Last but not least, two terraces, magnificently exposed, will allow you to enjoy the beautiful days at noon and evening.
The Menu
The menu has been designed exclusively around Italian cuisine. The real one! The one that favors quality products, without distorting them. It evolves from week to week, taking on the colors of the season. At noon, the lunch plays the game of tradition and naturalness. In the evening, the products are revisited by the two chefs from the Puglia region in a more daring way. Classics such as Vitello Tonnato or risotto are revealed with refinement. The House's pastry chef also offers excellent sweets to continue the day or to end it on a delicately sweet note.
The Grossery Store
When you don't have time to sit down and look for the best of Italian cuisine to serve for a meal with family or friends, a detour to the mercato is a must. Here, everything comes from there! You'll love the excellent olive oil, the salted meats or the exceptional cheeses. Of course the dishes or products offered, preferably organic, vary according to the season. There is always something to discover.
The Bar
For aperitifs or after dinner, two mixologists offer original cocktails, while also revisiting the great Italian classics such as the Negroni. You can sit down just for a drink, but you can also eat in complete relaxation.
THE INTERIOR DESIGN
The room, bathed in light during the day and more intimate in the evening, is built around an open kitchen and surrounded by a bar where you can sit down to enjoy a meal close to the Chefs and their team. Other, quieter spaces allow you to spend a moment out of time. The décor features wood, rosewood that warms the place with its reddish-brown reflections and its precious veins. For the colors, the House has opted for softness with powdered pink and saffron yellow. Subtle and elegant choices that were inspired by the famous chair signed Pierre Jeanneret. The staging is signed Nathalie Delabye and Sandrine Van Eldom for Ensemble & Associés.
THE TEAM
A team mostly of Italian people, in the dining room as well as in the kitchen, makes sure that every day they welcome their customers with special attention. Conviviality is also on the menu.1372 Chaussée de Waterloo 1180 Brussels
